Recipient of "Grants to Artists" award from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in the field of music/sound. William Winant received a $40,000. grant in recognition of his lifetime work as a new music percussionist.

The William Winant Percussion Group premieres 6 new percussion works by composers from the University of Virginia, Matthew Burtner, Christopher Luna, and Sophia Shen, Rachel Devorah Trapp, Kristina Warren, Calder Hannan. Mills College February 6 2016.
